| The whole construction involved 4,000M of Instant Flexilight, 500 labors and was completed in a span of 4 weeks. The lips were 135M in length and the eyes were 75M in circumference. The entire face weighted more than 2 tones, which is probably the heaviest shinning cheerful face in the world.
Steel rope was made into frames of the eyes and lips shape. 4 to 6 rows of Flexilight were tied on the steel frame. The finished frames were lifted and fixed at appropriate position on the bridge with wires and the smile was then put on the bridge. The design concept of the Cherry Bridge was: bridging the year with smiling face - prosperity and stability brought into 1998. |

| Good quality, high brightness and reliable delivery were the reasons why the Sydney authority chose Flexilight. The project was the point of attraction, and hence quality was the top priority.
The effect of the smiling face was fantastic. The decoration was supposed to be lit up for only 15 seconds during the firework show. But the crowds loved it so much that they screamed out for turning it back on. We are glad that we can share the joy of the New Year with Australian people. |
